COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • to provide the basic knowledge required for safe use of laparoscopic surgery
  • to describe all technical (instruments, trocars, energy sources...) and physiology principles of laparoscopic surgery
  • to critically review the most common laparoscopic surgical procedures
  • to learn or improve laparoscopic skills by repeatedly practicing suturing, knots tying and surgical procedures during hands-on sessions


UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA - optional

Evaluation through theoretical exams and practical tests at the end of the Intensive Course session leads to the delivery of a "University Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery" awarded by the University of Strasbourg.

The course registration fees do not include the Strasbourg University Diploma registration (optional).
University Diploma registration fees: approx. 430 €.
Payment must be done exclusively on the spot by cash in Euros only. Credit card payment is not accepted.

× Basic principles: insufflation - positioning of trocars - open laparoscopy - exposure - dissection - stapling - stitching and suturing
× Small bowel resection and anastomoses
× Gastrojejunostomy
× Cholecystectomy

OPTION 2 : LAPAROSCOPIC SUTURE TRAINING
× In auditorium : basics of laparoscopic suturing and demo
× In experimental lab :
- Evaluation of skills
- Training on dry boxes and ex-vivo tissues
